Transmedia post-internet multimedia participatory installation.

Four interconnected large-scale multimedia installations, each named according to its function and mode of interaction: Screening Room, Control Room, Press Room and Presidential Room.

The work draws on multiple open sources assembled into an audiovisual archive of more than 1,400 videos. The database comprises the Mexican President’s daily press conferences, broadcast and streamed from the National Palace in Mexico City between 2018 and 2024.

power · room is the first artwork developed within the artistic research project War Room. It examines how power is produced and sustained through contemporary media discourse.

CONTROL ROOM

Control Room is divided into two areas for public interaction: Media Station and Switcher Area. At the Media Station, visitors search the archive and select audiovisual fragments. These materials are then sent to the Switcher area, where participants determine how they are routed and displayed in the Screening Room.

PRESS ROOM

In the Press Room, visitors encounter physical and VR maquettes of the Mexican President’s Press Room. Both models allow them to examine the space in detail.

PRESIDENTIAL ROOM

The Presidential Room recreates a staged interior furnished with a chair, bespoke velvet throws, a lamp, a rug and two tables. On one table, two muted video monitors play segments featuring a real satirical character criticising the Mexican president. On the other are translations of the spoken content in the videos.
