the lure of Progress [I] examines climate disaster and the collapse of the modern ideal of Progress. Its first iteration (2023) presents ‘sonic contrails’: acoustic equivalents of the white linear trails created by aircraft exhaust and changes in air pressure. These sonic contrails are derived from commercial flight paths approaching Mexico City Airport.
