War Room: State Power, Political Discourse and Media Apparatuses

War Room: State Power, Political Discourse and Media Apparatuses examines how political authority is staged, transmitted and normalised through contemporary media.

The project draws on presidential broadcasts, audiovisual archives, databases, interfaces and live-media conventions to study how power is organised through rooms, screens, selection and repetition. Its first large-scale installation, power · room, comprises four interdependent spaces: a screening room, control room, press room and presidential room. Current developments include Non-Operational Images and Untitled [political drawings], extending the enquiry into civilian footage, counter-operational images and the visual rhetoric of state power.
